Motivating different genders

The old remark that men are from Mars and women are from Venus seems outdated and redundant in a modern workforce. But when it comes to motivations, are we all really so inherently similar? Bill Alexander, CEO at Red Letter Days for Business, believes gender does play a role in benefits attraction. He explains: “What motivates men and women will differ, in the same way that what motivates generations and personalities will vary. We recently launched a report which revealed that a quarter of both men and women claimed to have been motivated in 2015. However when asked what motivated them, more men chose a promotion compared to women (20% vs 16%), and more women said being recognised and rewarded for their hard work (36% vs 28%).”
