HR must stop fraudulent employee claims

There has been a notable increase in the number of fraudulent claims within the employment liability arena. Over one million accidents occur in the workplace every year, however just ten per cent of employees seek further action, according to a new report, written by law firm First4Lawyers.

Just last month HR Grapevine looked at the top ten cities for accident claims made at work, with Edinburgh comes first and Shrewsbury being cited as one of safest places to work in the UK.

This increase has led to a new form of opportunistic fraud, which has the potential to be the gateway to organised crime within the work place. These organised frauds can be very costly and damaging to employers in all sectors.

Talking to HR Grapevine, Antonia Ford, Partner at Clyde & Co, explains why the number of workplace claims has increased.
