Flexible working, mobile technology and increasingly international remits mean for many organisations the idea of nine to five is a thing of the past. Employees are choosing to work on the move, at home or in the evening in order to optimise their output. And while the ways and time that people work have changed, some managers have found it hard to adjust their expectations accordingly. If these differing understandings go on too long they can cause unproductive, unengaged staff as well as unconvinced bosses. However, with the right processes in place, expectations can be managed on both sides to create a harmonious, high output team.
