As I walk to work, checking emails to get up to speed, I have to remind myself how lucky I am to be spending my day in one of London’s luxury five star hotels – not everyone gets to work in such stunning surroundings!
Once I’m there – around 8am - my mornings are spent in various important meetings with my team. Firstly I catch up with my HR team to discuss the events of the previous day. I find these meetings extremely valuable - by discussing the day-to-day issues with my team, and how we can act on and learn from them, we can ensure we are achieving the best for our colleagues and in turn the highest levels of satisfaction among our guests. Occasionally I’m out at a breakfast meeting - be it a networking event or a briefing on an industry issue – in which case I’ll host the team meeting later in the morning.
Without fail at 9.30am each day, I join the rest of the hotel management team where we gather to discuss the events of the day before, the commercial focus areas of that week and any upcoming employee activities.
