“The number one benefit of information technology is that it empowers people to do what they want to do. It lets people be creative. It lets people be productive. It lets people learn things they didn't think they could learn before, and so in a sense it is all about potential” – Steve Ballmer. This quote from the former CEO of Microsoft speaks volumes about the impact of technology on society. However, has the rise of technology been to everyone’s advantage and if not, how can it be implemented successfully to include older generations?
Before the 21st Century, there was no Facebook, Twitter and certainly no slender-looking smartphones which allowed us to communicate with friends and family across the world or even access work emails from the comfort of our own homes. Although the majority of us would agree that technology has had a positive impact on our lives, there are still those among us who don’t necessarily know how to harness the power behind technological advances to use to their advantage.
