Does condensing a full workweek into fewer days positively impact employee wellbeing, exhaustion, and burnout?
That is the question facing employers weighing up a move to a four-day workweek and HR professionals curious about the impact of compressed schedules on workplace wellbeing.
Well, new research from Ghent University at IKEA Belgium has thrown up some interesting answers.
According to the study published earlier in January, while compressed schedules offered IKEA Belgium employees psychological detachment from their work, they did not seem to signifcantly reduce the risk of burnout.
