As someone who was adopted and is now a parent through adoption, Robertson knows from personal experience the incredible amount of stress the journey can bring.
Speaking on the HR Grapevine podcast, the MD discusses why adoption assistance can help relieve some of this difficulty and change the lives of impacted employees, sharing his story and offering guidance for firms considering the benefit.
Moreover, although only around 100,000 adoptions occur in the US, Robertson emphasizes that this is a “feel-good” benefit. It will likely only cost an employer a small amount, he says, and bring a significant positive perception of the company and its investment in employees, helping them to attract and retain talent.
