Women are now earning what men did in 2006, according to the World Economic Forum (WEF).
Their latest study, ‘The Global Gender Gap Report 2015’, said the average female wage is now $11,000 (£7,200), which was the average male wage in 2006 (back then, the female comparative salary was $6,000 (£4,000)). The average male now takes home $21,000 (£14,000).
The WEF believes it will take another 118 years - or until 2133 - until the global gender pay gap is no more.
The biggest progress has been made politically; half of all heads of state are female, as are 19% of parliamentarians and 18% of ministers.
