The CEO that fired 400 employees with no warning - and why

The CEO of the start-up company Zirtual suddenly sacked approximately 400 employees via email with no warning.

The virtual assistant company that had raised over $5million in financing changed its website to say it was “pausing operations.”

CEO Maren Kate Donovan gives her reasoning in a Medium post. She says: “I cannot express my deep sorrow at letting down our employees, our clients, and our investors."

In her short response to what went wrong, she says: “Burn.”
