The average British worker moves jobs three times before reaching peak employment contentedness, according to research carried out by reed.co.uk as part of their Career Contentment Index (CCI).
The report suggested that most people are happiest with their employment at age 32, which is two years before the average UK marrying age for women and four years for men, at 34 and 36 respectively.
Whilst the survey found that 21% of people only had to move jobs once and 20% put the figure at twice, a shocking seven percent admitted that they had to job hop ten times before feeling happy in their role.
Lynn Cahillane, Communications Manager at reed.co.uk, claims that the survey highlights the ratio between job and life satisfaction, saying: “Your career is a serious business and for many, is one of the most important parts of their lives. That’s why finding a job that makes you happy is vital.”
