UK workers spend 10% of working life writing emails

UK workers spends on average 36 days a year writing email, according to new study marking the launch of a new app.

36 working days, or 288 hours, a year are spent writing email, says a study into workplace communication among UK workers. The study conducted by O2 Business showed that 59% of workers use email as their primary form of correspondence, claiming that the UK has become over-reliant on email.

The study was produced ahead of O2’s launch of app Just Call Me, a new conference calling system. According to the study, 32% of UK workers believe conference calls help them to manage their working time better, while 52% found them to be more personal.
