Whitbread scoop best pub employer award after internal hiring push

Whitbread Restaurant has claimed a prestigious accolade and been named 'Best Pub Employer' at this year's Publican Awards.

The company which owns restaurant brands including Beefeater, Table Table, Brewers Fayre and Taybarns, with a combined total of 406 sites and 15,000 employees, beat off competition from New Inventive Pub Company, Stonegate and other major pub businesses after a six month judging process involving interviews, site visits and panel interviews.

Paul  Mitford, HR Director, restaurants at Whitbread explained why it was so important for them to be seen as a top employer in their industry.
