Stamping-out absenteeism in the workplace

 

While some employee absences cannot be helped, excessive time off work is a cause for concern and can indicate an underlying issue.

Research by ACAS found that the average worker is absent from work for 8.4 days a year and that these absences cost the UK economy £10-12 billion annually.

Simon Birchall, Managing Director of workforce management solutions provider timeware (UK), says that absenteeism can be a headache and has a detrimental effect on workplace morale and overall productivity.
