Making rude jokes or using obscene language in the workplace can be offensive to your colleagues and create a toxic environment. It’s always important to treat others with respect and to be professional, even if you are having camaraderie. What is funny to you, could be downright rude to others. In fact, it could amount to something more serious if it crosses the line.

5. Failing the waiter test
It’s always a good test to see how someone tests someone in a profession they might think they are better than, says Russell.
