Mum and Dad

“I think we see outstanding leaderships every day in all facets of life,” she says. “My first and most important role models were my parents, and they continue to influence how I approach my personal and professional life. Both offered me huge encouragement and have ultimately shaped the person I have become. My Dad’s mantra has always been ‘You get out of life what you put in’ and those words reflect my work ethic now. My Mum is very values driven - qualities such as honesty, trust, and integrity were hugely important in our house. Growing up, I always wanted to make them extremely proud and as the first in the extended family to go to university and then throughout my career, I think I have done that.”

Sheryl Sandberg

“Facebook's chief operating officer, Sheryl is one of the most powerful women in the world and a role model for anyone. She is also an activist, author and founder of Leanin.org (also known as the Lean In Foundation). I admire that Sheryl is values driven, compassionate and always puts people first. The way in which she has used the Lean In platform to drive engagement is so powerful. One of my favourite quotes she said is “being confident and believing in your own self-worth is necessary to achieve your potential”.”
