This year, L’Oréal’s firing of their first-ever transgender model following controversial comments voiced on Facebook led to public division.

The cosmetic giant issued a statement claiming that Munroe Bergdorf’s comments, which alleged that ‘white people are racist’ were ‘at odds’ with the company’s values, and as such have ended their partnership with her.

In response, some customers vowed to boycott L’Oréal in unity with the transgender model.
