Whilst employers can’t change their employee's journeys, they can encourage better wellbeing. For example, one start-up is looking to help their employees get enough rest and exercise, by incentivising them. The online mattress-maker Casper has introduced a policy where employees can track their exercise and sleep via tracking device IncentFit, and receive cash rewards for practicing a healthy lifestyle.
Another way firms are ensuring their employees come to work fresh faced, is by offering flexibility. Allowing staff, even for just one day a week to ditch the commute and work remotely, could increase morale as well as prevent presenteeism. With just under half (43%) of employees feeling that their employer puts the results of the company ahead of their health and wellbeing, addressing staff needs now, can pay dividends going forward.
