We’ve all got our own personal mountain tops. The goals that we’ve set ourselves that from the outlook seem nearly impossible to conquer.
I’m currently reading the book ‘The One Thing’ by Gary Keller, which has got me thinking…
What is the ‘one thing’ that you need to do that will subsequently make everything else fall into place and become easier? Even if the task itself isn’t that complicated, sometimes struggling to generate the motivation to get started can be enough to stifle your progress.
In ‘The One Thing’, Keller talks about breaking down your goals into long and short term, and how doing this turns each stage of your goal into a more manageable and less intimidating task. And this makes sense, if for example you had to write a book, the prospect of writing the whole thing in one sitting may be intimidating, but writing just one chapter at a time doesn’t feel like such a scary thing…
