NHS recruitment agency Head jailed for fraud

The Head of National Recruitment at NHS Professionals Ltd (NHSP) has been jailed for two and a half years after being found guilty of fraud.

Julie Angrish pleaded guilty after defrauding the NHS out of more than £130,000. She has admitted to falsifying invoices for an employee using At Liberty, a company run by her sister and brother-in-law, as well as receiving a payment of £51,480 from them.

Angrish was appointed as head of recruitment at NHSP in 2005 and worked there until 2012 when she was dismissed following the discovery of the fraud.
