Chances are, your organisation has strict rules about how employees use the internet during working hours.
After all, no boss wants their staff going off-task on a ‘wiki-walk’ or planning their next holiday.
However, research from the University of Haifa suggests that so-called ‘cyberloafing’ could in fact be a force for good, because it helps employees cope with boredom.
Speaking in PsyPost, study author Shani Pindek of the University of Haifa, explained that surfing the web during work hours prevents staff from doing other more destructive things when there is a lull in their working day.
