As more businesses embrace agile working, empowering workers to complete tasks remotely from their homes or coffee shops – there’s always the conundrum about how much time a worker should spend out of office.
However, one boss seems to have cracked it, writing off Wednesdays as a remote working day. Explaining the practice to Quartz at Work, Shari Buck is the co-Founder and Chief Product Officer at Doximity, who says for the business, Wednesday is the best day to work remotely.
“In fact, we think it’s so good that we have our entire company stay home on Wednesdays, and we close our main office,” she says.
She believes work from home (WFH) Wednesdays are the reason the business has been productive and on a path of positive growth for nearly a decade. It evolved into a company policy when Buck took Wednesday mornings off to teach at her childrens’ pre-school, whilst serving as co-founder of what was then a small start-up.
