Most UK workers aren’t primarily motivated by money, with just over one in 10 classing their salary as the most important factor in their work.
This finding, taken from research conducted by job site Indeed, found that employees prefer enjoying their job and having a good relationship with colleagues to a high salary.
In fact, UK workers value having a positive working environment so much that more than half the country said they would turn down a big pay rise if it meant working somewhere they did not like.
Bill Richards, UK Managing Director at Indeed, said that the findings were something that employers should take onboard.
