'Over-the-top anger' & bullying scandal rocks Westminster again

The Speaker of the House of Commons John Bercow is facing further allegations of workplace bullying, with former colleagues claiming he is prone to “over-the-top anger.”

Parliament’s former Black Rod, David Leakey, told Politics Home that Bercow had called him an “anti-Semite” and “quite suddenly erupted in a rage, banging the table and being extremely and personally rude to me.”

And Angus Sinclair, Bercow’s former Private Secretary, said he had also been exposed to Bercow’s temper, and was “not sure he was completely in control of it.”

This follows allegations earlier in the year that Bercow shouted at his former Private Secretary, undermined her in front of other staff, and left her unable to continue working in her post.
