The Chief Executive of Tesla Motors, Elon Musk, made less than the median Tesla employee in 2017 according to a report in Market Watch.
Musk made $49,920 (£36,159.30) in 2017 with no other compensation. However, the average Tesla worker earned $54,816 (£39,708.44) last year, the company said.
However, Musk probably doesn’t feel too bad missing out on a top salary – he owns 19.9% of Tesla's stock, a stake that was worth about $9.4 billion (£6.81 bil) as of Thursday afternoon, Market Watch reports.
This news coincides with reports that Amazon owner Jeff Bezos is earning roughly 1.2 million times what his average employees, according to calculations from Fast Company.
