Has your firm reported its gender pay gap? If you missed the deadline this month, it is time to hurry up.
The first investigations into non-compliance with the Gender Pay Gap reporting obligations could start as early as June this year, according to correspondence published by the Treasury Select Committee.
A letter from Rebecca Hilsenrath, CEO of the Equalities and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) to Nicky Morgan, Chair of the Treasury Select Committee confirms that the EHRC plans to start the first wave of its investigations into non-compliance at the beginning of June.
“The Commission has the power to take enforcement action against any employer who does not comply with the Regulations,” the letter reads. “The next stage for private sector employers will be an investigation under section 20 of the Equality Act 2006, in which we establish whether an employer has committed an unlawful act.”
