Tesco employee pockets £50k after workplace toilet accident

A Tesco employee has been awarded €65,000 (£56,871.42) after he injured himself slipping over in the toilet.

Damien Jedruch suffered fractures to his right elbow and wrist when he fell over in the toilet of the Dublin warehouse where he worked, according to the Irish Times.

The floor of the washroom was covered in smooth ceramic tiles, which became slippery when wet. Jedruch fell victim to their treacherous nature as he went to dry his hands after washing.

The Polish national then sued the supermarket, claiming the tiles were unsafe and dangerous.
