Employees turn to google for bullying boss advice

Employees are increasingly less interested in impressing their bosses and far more concerned about potential bullying from leaders, according to research from Perkbox and SEMrush.

The researchers investigated what employees were asking Google about work. They found that ‘How to impress your boss?’, which was searched 21,700 times in the UK in 2015, dropped to 18,500 searches in 2017 (a 15% drop).

However, ‘How to prove your boss is bullying you?’ increased from 1,200 searches (2015) to 4,100 (2016) and 33,500 (2017) in the UK – suggesting workers are more concerned about a negative company culture than they were two years previously.

Chieu Cao, Co-founder and CMO at Perkbox, suggests the two search terms could be linked.
