Amazon boss pockets 1.2 million times more than average worker pay

It is probably no surprise that Jeff Bezos, the Founder of internet shopping giant Amazon, is worth a fortune.

However, it may come as a shock to his employees that he is earning roughly 1.2 MILLION times what they do, according to calculations from Fast Company.

The researchers found that Bezos’s net worth rose by $35.1 billion (£24.98 million). Also last year, the median Amazon employee made $28,446 (£20,245) – meaning Bezos’s salary is more than a million times higher.

However, Amazon reported that Bezos made just 59 times his median employee – this is because much of his worth is tied up in his stock holdings.
