The subtle discriminatory behaviours women face at work

With recent pushes to promote equality, such as gender pay gap reporting, scrutiny on gender discrimination, and diversity quotas, it’s promising that organisations are committing to change.

However, one area easy to overlook is the underlying perceptions of female workers that are causing them to face unwarranted behaviours at work.

According to the report, ‘Gender Inequality in the Workplace’ compiled by Savoystewart, who extracted data from a YouGov survey, gender profiling is contributing to women doubting their capabilities.

Respondents were quizzed about typical workplace occurings, such as promotions or being interrupted during a meeting, uncovering some disturbing findings related to gender.
