Almost seven in ten women believe that they're being paid the same as men at their company with a similar professional background, new research has found.
The finding, from job search engine CareerBuilder, highlights the disconnect between the perception and the reality of pay equality.
With 68% of women believing that they're being paid the same as men – with one per cent believing that they're making more – it shows the importance of recent pay gap legislation in making the difference transparent.
Although the research is from the US, there is growing pressure across many developed economies for more transparency and equality regards pay.
