Over 1,500 firms have failed to report their gender pay gap figures before this week’s deadline leaving them vulnerable to legal action.
According to the Equalities and Human Rights Commission, 1,557 firms missed the Wednesday midnight deadline.
The equalities watchdog will investigate those firms who missed the deadline. They could face unlimited fines as a penalty simultaneously risking being named and shamed – BBC reports.
Under legislation introduced last year, all companies, charities and public-sector bodies employing more than 250 staff members were required to submit their gender pay figures at midnight on 4th April.
