Threat text: Employee fired for illegal driving threatens boss

A worker who made violent threats to his bosses after he lost his job has pleaded guilty to sending a malicious communication.

Shields Gazzette reports that Stephen Alderson, 47, left staff at JB Site Investigations fearing for their safety after he sent a series of threatening emails and text messages - including a threat to smash his ex-boss’ head with a hammer.

Alderson, who was fired for lying about having a driving licence, sent the company’s Managing Director John Lawrence and Project Manager Jordan Schofield several text messages containing obscene language, including violent threats, South Tyneside Magistrates’ heard.

In September, Alderson was offered a job as a cable percussion and rotary driller at JB Site Investigations. One of the requirements of the role was to own a driving licence. However, when he was asked repeatedly to present it, Alderson kept coming up with excuses.
