Microsoft fire concerning numbers of staff accused of harassment

Microsoft has fired 20 employees over the last year after it was found they were accused of multiple instances of sexual harassment.

Katherine Hogan, Chief People Officer at the USA-based tech giant, sent out a company-wide memo announcing the dismissal of the employees for unfit workplace behaviour.

She wrote: “Nearly half of these [cases that Microsoft investigated] resulted in termination of an employee who engaged in unacceptable behaviour.”

Last week, court documents were reported to show that the company received hundreds of discrimination and harassment complaints from female employees.
