CEO outed as earning 900 times more than employees

If there is ever a topic to annoy the average employee, it’s the remuneration and bonus packages of CEOs – especially when it outstrips their own pay hundreds of times over.

News that one US-based CEO currently earns 935 times more than the median worker at his firm is unlikely to allay that anger.

Gary Heminger, CEO of Marathon Petroleum Corp, the second largest oil refiner in the US, earned $19.7million last year (£14.8million).

Time report that the difference is so much because many of the firm’s employees are part time workers – bringing the median pay down to circa $21,000 (£15,000).
