Google employee sues after daily harassment from male colleagues

A software engineer who worked at Google for seven years is suing her former employer after being harassed by male colleagues, who allegedly spiked her drinks and shot at her with toy guns.

In the suit, obtained by Gizmodo, Loretta Lee said alcohol would be secretly added to her drinks by male colleagues, and they would engage in “lewd comments, pranks, and even physical violence” on a daily basis.

She added that one male colleague once messaged her asking for a “horizontal hug,” and another slapped her across the face when he was drunk. She was concerned that a camera may have been installed under her desk to spy on her and was fed up with being shot repeatedly with nerf gun toys.

Lee was fired in February 2016, which the company told her was for poor performance. However, she states that she received positive performance reviews throughout her career at Google and placed highly in two internal hackathons.
