KFC employees pushed to take leave during chicken shortage

Many KFC employees have been encouraged to take annual leave as the fast food chain struggles with shortages of chicken.

The American fried chicken restaurant hired DHL to supply food products and packaging to KFC restaurants. However, the delivery company has experienced “teething problems” in getting food to around 900 stores in the UK.

As a result, most of the shops are temporarily closed, open for shorter hours or offering a reduced menu.

The company has said that workers are being encouraged to take holiday but would not be forced to do so.
