Britain’s leading charity for LGBT equality has drawn up a list of the top employers for inclusivity in the workplace.
The National Assembly for Wales was named top, after coming fifth last year and was praised for having a range of policies for lesbian, gay and bisexual staff. They also included measures to improve the workplace for transgender employees.
For the recruitment industry, PageGroup shone, coming in 70th position. On the specialist recruiter’s website, it reads: “We’re committed to promoting inclusion at work and to continually improving our own working environment. It is essential to the success of our business globally that the people we employ feel valued.”
Ruth Hunt, Chief Executive at Stonewall, explained that it was important to celebrate employers doing a lot for LGBT rights at a time when abuse and discrimination is still rife.
