Sneaky candidates are two-timing their potential employers by attending other interviews whilst waiting for a formal contract offer, according to research from NGA Human Resources.
Over 55% of the 2,000 candidates interviewed admitted to continuing to look elsewhere when waiting for details of an offer. However, savvy hiring decision makers are catching on, with 88% of HR Directors reporting that they expect candidates to continue interviewing, even when offers have been made.
Speeding up the time it takes to get a formal contract in the candidates’ hands might help the problem, but 41% said they are being held up by cumbersome internal processes.
Even once a job offer is received and accepted, organisations still cannot afford to be complacent. Nearly 70% of candidates stated that they had realised that a job was not right for them within the first year.
