'Racist b****': Sacked worker wins payout after slamming boss

A café worker who was sacked for labelling his boss a ‘racist b****’ behind her back, has been awarded almost $4,000 (£2,300) for unfair dismissal.

The employee, from Darwin, Australia, lost his job at the QBar, after a coworker reported him to his boss for calling her the slanderous name behind her back.

He told the Fair Work Commission he regretted making the remark, which was said ‘out of anger and frustration’. His frustrations were with his boss who allegedly only employed Estonian-speaking friends that communicated in their native tongue, allegedly creating ‘cultural exclusion’ and an atmosphere of ‘favouritism.’

He felt that was punishment was unfair, and he was being targeted for one comment - The Northern Territory News reports. The commission also heard that ‘everyone swears’ in the cafe and criticised the business for making the employee appear as the ‘nasty one’.
