Theresa May’s cabinet reshuffle made numerous headlines, with media eyes, over the last couple of days, fixated on 10 Downing Street hoping to discern what it meant when Heads of Department walked in, how long they were speaking with their boss for and how they walked out.
Whilst May has completed her reshuffle - with many commentators claiming there wasn't actually much of a shuffle at all - there are many akeaways for employers from May’s start-of-year reshuffle of sorts.
For business leaders, it might regard the media's management of changes. Former Minister and Conservative leader Iain Duncan Smith, told Sky that Number 10 made a mistake by allowing the press to think that this week’s changes would be wide-ranging. Anything but allows her actions to be interpreted as weak.
“The problem, as in all these things, is how the media is managed is the run to a cabinet reshuffle,” he said.
