Ryanair FINALLY recognises unions after strike threat

Ryanair has finally recognised pilot unions, after previously refusing to engage with them – Independent reports.

This move has come about in response to strike calls by flight crews in various parts of Europe – most notably a stoppage planned for Wednesday by pilots based in Dublin.

Chief Executive Michael O’Leary said: “We will now deal with our pilots through recognised national union structures.

“Christmas flights are very important to our customers and we wish to remove any worry or concern that they may be disrupted by pilot industrial action next week. If the best way to achieve this is to talk to our pilots through a recognised union process, then we are prepared to do so.”
