With over 1,000 schools closed this week and major disruption to roads, railways and airports across the UK, there’s no denying that sub-zero temperatures have also impacted the workplace.
However, ‘I’m sorry, an avalanche has landed on my drive and there’s no way I can get in today’, no longer sounds plausible when you’ve heard the excuse for the fifth day in a row.
Therefore, it’s no surprise that new research has found that 27% of the cheekiest employees plan to lie about the snow conditions to get the day off work.
According to the survey, from Desk.co.uk, who asked 2,088 employees over the weekend if they would consider telling a few “white lies” to avoid a day at work this week, 27% of admitted that they would lie in order to get the day off work.
