The London Stock Exchange has begun interviewing candidates for the Chief Executive role, a sign of the Board’s growing confidence as it 'wins' against an activist investors attempt to oust the Chairman – FT reports.
LSE are looking for a successor to Xavier Rolet, who stepped down last month amidst a governance crisis.
David Warren, the group’s Interim Chief, does not want to pursue the top role, according to two people who have spoken to him.
Rolet stepped down a year earlier than planned. It is widely thought his exit came as the LSE sought to head off the publication of further revelations that would lay bare the tensions between the ex-CEO and the Board over the company’s succession plans.
