MP's computer 'smut' allegations spark debate on workplace behaviour

With Tory MP Damian Green accused of holding thousands of images of legal pornography on his work computer, despite denials, the story has shone a light on workplace propriety.

Many reports have cited an ex-Scotland Yard Detective who claims that on some days, websites containing pornography were being searched for and opened for several hours on Green’s Parliamentary computer and laptop.

Mr Lewis, who retired from the Metropolitan Police in 2014, told the BBC: “In between browsing pornography, he was sending emails from his account, his personal account, reading documents... it was ridiculous to suggest anybody else could have done it."

There is an ongoing Parliamentary inquiry into the matter. It will centre on the ministerial workplace code, which sets standards of conduct expected of Government ministers.
