'Snooze FIGHT': BBC staff hit back at The Sun's 'sleeping on the job' claims

Staff at BBC News have hit back at claims from The Sun’s front story, suggesting that BBC journalists are lazily snoozing on the job and are wasting licence payer’s money.

‘Here is the Snooze’ headlined an image of a BBC newsroom worker having a nap, and the article quoted an unnamed source who said night-shift workers regularly napped and that in a 12-hour shift, some only do ‘around an hour of work.’

However, BBC journalists hit back, justifying that overnight staff may have stayed at their desks to rest after working a full night without a break. Others said they had used their lunch breaks to sleep when they were working heavy schedules.
