Recruitment is a never-ending stream of ‘make or break’ moments. From securing a client, to coaching your candidates, it can often seem like everything is going at 100 mph.

One recruiter has revealed the one interview question she asks which she claims allows her to know instantly whether or not her candidate in front of her is suited. Lillian Roberts, co-Founder of accounting firm Xendoo, revealed in a recent episode of CNBC's ‘The Job interview’, her favourite subtle interview tactic. – CNBC reports.

Roberts claims to ask every candidate: ‘In what order do praise, financial advancement and personal accomplishment drive you?’

"It's sort of a trick question to begin with, but it also reveals a lot about somebody," Roberts says. And there is a correct way of answering. She claims that personal accomplishment should come first, followed by praise – however, Roberts warned that candidates should never say finance first.
