At some point in their career, a not insignificant number of employees, and employers too, dream of sticking up their fingers at whichever job they're in and walking off into the sunset to pastures new. Few actually do it.
However, one bus company boss has enacted this widely-held dream by blasting all of his staff in one fiery email, sacking them and closing the firm – Daily Mirror reports.
Sydney Hardy, company boss at Nippybus, announced his departure via email before telling his 27 full and part-time drivers they could consider themselves dismissed or redundant. In his email, he wrote: “There is a difference between giving up and knowing when you have [had] enough. I have had enough and realise I cannot work with you, the people I employ, a moment longer.
“There comes a time in any relationship when you just have to say ‘F*** it’, say goodbye and move on. This is my time! I am quitting to pursue my dream of not having to work here.”
