Huge numbers of LGBT workers reveal workplace bullying

A new study has revealed that four in ten of LGBT workers, bullied because of their sexual identity, have left a job as a result.

According to the survey of workers, two in five lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender employees have been bullied at work – 11% higher than other workers.

Of those that have been bullied because of their sexual orientation or gender identity, 56% say they’ve been bullied repeatedly with 40% leaving their jobs as a result.

Worryingly, almost half of LGBT workers say they face different standards and policies at work. More than six in ten feel they’ve been falsely accused of making mistakes or felt dismissed or ignored when they spoke up.
