Google HR: 'a special type of hell'

A quick look at any “Best Places to Work List” shows a name that appears again, and again, and again: Google.

On Glassdoor UK – the anonymous company review site – the tech giant enjoys a 4.1 star rating. Considering the top company, Expedia, have a 4.3 rating, this is a heady achievement.

However, working in HR at the firm doesn’t appear to be the dream that many employees expect. That is, according to one disgruntled HR employee who blasted the firm in a Washington Post report.

The employee, who worked in the resourcing sector at Google HR, complains that the job is repetitive, impersonal and disengaging, calling it a “special type of hell”.
