L'Oréal fires transgender model following race comments

L’Oréal has fired their first-ever transgender model following controversial comments voiced on Facebook.

Munroe Bergdorf reportedly wrote on Facebook that “all white people are racist”, leading the cosmetics company to fire her. L’Oréal later issued a statement claiming that Bergdorf’s comments were “at odds” with the company’s values, and as such have ended their partnership with her – the BBC reports.

Bergdorf’s post, which has since been deleted, said: “Honestly I don't have energy to talk about the racial violence of white people any more. Yes ALL white people.

"Because most of ya'll don't even realise or refuse to acknowledge that your existence, privilege and success as a race is built on the backs, blood and death of people of colour. Your entire existence is drenched in racism."
